The Young
Citizens Awards recognize citizens (20 years or younger) who have been nominated by the community for demonstration of exceptional commitment to the principles of good citizenship and community involvement. It is important that the reasons for the nomination are clearly stated in the information presented by the nominator.

Nominators are asked to limit their nominations to two outstanding candidates.
The Young Citizens Awards were
created over 30 years ago to celebrate the accomplishments of area young people. Often youths are recognized for scholastic and athletic achievement, both of which are very important. These awards, however, were created to honor those exceptional young people, who – on their own – serve others, or display unusual character, courage or citizenship.
The nominator should clearly detail the reasons for the nomination, along with the reason the applicant fits
into the selected category. The nomination forms will be reviewed by a jury of select members of the Chamber.
Please include all of the reasons the candidate should be honored as an outstanding Young Citizen. Be specific and list ALL details of exceptional service and activities that support the nomination. Please include any substantiating information, such as letters and press clippings.
