Bucks IU Seeking Volunteers for Annual Employability Expo

Dear Potential Employability Expo Interviewer,

Please consider serving as an interviewer at our annual Bucks IU Employability Expo being held the morning of April 25, 2023. The Expo provides secondary students with disabilities from Bucks County opportunities to practice job interview skills and gain other information related to life after graduation. We honor the diversity of our students and their interests by inviting business representatives from various career fields to serve as interviewers for this event.  We are hoping you will consider participating in this year’s event.

Past participants have reported that the event was a positive experience; they were pleased to help students grow professionally.

This year, each student will be scheduled for three, twenty-minute mock interviews. At the end of each interview, the interviewer will provide immediate feedback to the student, to include positive remarks and suggestions for improvement. Students will also attend two breakout sessions on topics related to success after graduation. 

We are looking for volunteer interviewers willing to participate in up to eight, twenty-minute practice interviews with students. Please note that this is not a job fair; our intent is only to provide opportunities for students to practice interviewing skills. Hiring commitments are not expected.

This year's Expo is scheduled for Tuesday April 25, 2023, from 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM.

This event will take place at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit located at 705 North Shady Retreat Rd. Doylestown, PA 18901

There will be a brief orientation for interviewers on the morning of the Expo at 8:45 AM to inform you about the day. Light refreshments will be available at this meeting. 

We will do our best to accommodate participants who wish to serve as an interviewer, but can only attend part of the event. 

Additional resources will be emailed to those who volunteer to serve as an interviewer prior to the event. 

Lunch is not provided.
